Basic & Transitional Studies courses are designed to provide skills in reading, writing and mathematics to prepare students for college level work.

  • Non-Credit ESL Program
    Reading, writing, listening and speaking classes are offered to non-native speaking immigrants in the literacy beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. * current Non-Credit ESL class schedule.
     
  • Adult Basic Education, ABE / GED Program
    ABE classes are for adults who need instruction in basic skills. GED classes are for students preparing for the GED Test.
     
  • Transitional (Credit) ESL Program
    Reading, writing, listening and speaking classes for non-native speakers of English who have passed the college ESL COMPASS college placement test. * current Transitional ESL class schedule.
     
  • Career Link
  • Career Link Academy is a free program for out-of-school youth ages 16-21 who are interested in the opportunity to return to school in an exciting and new environment on the South Seattle Community College campus. Career Link offers high school completion classes with a focus on career and educational planning. In addition, Career Link offers courses that will prepare students for a successful transition to college programs.
